Politics: The Court

Photo credit: Stephen Crowley/The New York Times

We tend to think of government as the inevitable result of soulless machination. When a photojournalist captures a moment like this, it's an excellent reminder that government is composed of real individuals with unexpected human things like personalities and feelings.

During his State of the Union address, President Obama became the first president in recent memory to rebuke the Supreme Court to its collective face.

They look hurt. The President will probably not do that again.

  1. It is indeed quite a moment to capture. An excellent breadth of interior commotions distilled into a single static image.

Anyway, I like it. I'm moreover posting, though, to congratulate you on starting this blog, and enjoining you to update it more often! I'll be posting a link to it from my own, in any event.
